Nazarbayev announced a one-day nation-wide mourning over the militarymen murdered at the border post, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s official website. “The tragedy at Arkankergen frontier post of Almaty oblast that claimed lives of 15 people has left no Kazakhstan citizen indifferent. The investigation is currently underway upon my instructions. A special commission is working at the incident site. The experts will make their own statements and we will find out what has really happened there. The organizers and the actual perpetrators will be found. Those guilty of this tragedy will bear a proper punishment. "The militarymen died on duty at the border of our country while ensuring peace and security of all the Kazakhstan citizens. They gave their young lives for the sake of peace and future of Kazakhstan. The government is currently rendering required aide and support to the families of the victims. This tragedy has become a grief not only for the families of the victims, but for all the Kazakhstan people. In this relation I announce a one-day national mourning,” the message cites Nursultan Nazarbayev as saying. According to the President’s decree, June 5, 2012, is declared the mourning day. “The nation-wide mourning shall be declared in Kazakhstan on June 5, 2012 in relation to the tragic deaths of Kazakhstan border guards at Arkankergen frontier post,” the decree states.
